We are looking to add to our team with a part-time real estate paralegal.
About Our Team
The Law Offices of Philip W. Gasbarro, Esq. is a small firm based out of North Smithfield, Rhode Island and handles real estate matters in RI and MA. We use a “team approach” with an open office layout and have as a core value the creation of a welcoming and fulfilling work environment for each employee.
Description of the Right Applicant
The candidate we are seeking has the following skills:
1. Interpersonal skills. The candidate should work well with a team, be able to communicate clearly in emails, and have good phone skills. The candidate must be able to efficiently and effective gather or share information, while being professional and welcoming.
2. Computer proficiency. We run a fully digital office, and the candidate needs to be comfortable with navigating through digital file systems and standard productivity software (File Explorer, Word, PDF, etc.).
3. Follow procedures. We have (and are always expanding) our company operating manual, which provides uniformity to procedures ranging from scheduling to file names. The candidate must be able to understand and follow written procedures.
4. Attention to detail. Details for files (such as a party name, closing date, or proration amount) are critical. The candidate must be able to demonstrate that the candidate is able to focus on details and get them right.
5. Self-motivated and accountable. The candidate must be able to follow task lists and complete assignments without direct supervision. Daily and weekly checklists are provided and reviewed with the team, but the candidate must be responsible enough to manage his/her time and keep up with the demands.
6. Work experience. Prior paralegal experience, especially in the area of real estate conveyancing, is encouraged and will be considered. At a minimum, the candidate should be able to demonstrate successfully having performed the above skills in an office or similar environment.
